How Karate Karaoke grew from a Las Vegas idea into a tradition now thriving in Port Angeles.
Port Angeles competitive karaoke found its voice in September 2025, when Karate Karaoke brought The Dojo to the Pacific Northwest. What began in Las Vegas in 2006 as a bold idea quickly grew into a tradition of music, competition, and community that has inspired singers for nearly two decades.
The name Karate Karaoke was chosen early on, but the dream didn’t fully launch until December 30, 2007, when the belt system debuted and the first warriors began their journey. From those early nights, the concept of belting up took hold. The very first Black Belt was awarded to The Wedge, marking a milestone that set the stage for countless ceremonies to come.
The Dojo spirit only grew stronger with time. By 2011, Karate Karaoke had expanded west with Karate Karaoke Los Angeles, proving the movement was bigger than any one city. And in 2025, the Dojo’s reach extended again with Karate Karaoke Port Angeles, giving a new community of warriors the chance to step into the spotlight, earn belts, and carry the tradition forward.
But the truest history of Karate Karaoke isn’t measured in dates or milestones. It lives in the singers who step up, the crowds who cheer them on, and the unforgettable nights that continue to define competitive karaoke in Las Vegas, Port Angeles, and beyond.
